Episode 3: The T.E.Z.

Master Chief Reg Cor hesitated before knocking on his mother’s courters on board her UUPG Dreadnaught, “don’t just stand there with your thumb up your ass, come on in.” Reg opened the door slowly and closed it behind himself gently. He was about to sit in one of the nicest chairs on the ship, “don’t sit down.”

“You wanted to see me, Ma’am?” Reg stood at attention.

Reavasai Cor kept her back to Reg as she looked through the large window in front of her. “At ease, son.”

“Reg sounded a sighed, “thanks, Mom.”

“What the fuck did you just call me?” Reavasai turned to face her son. She was an elderly woman with frizzy red hair and a face that demanded respect.

“Ma’am,” Reg snapped to attention again.

Reavasai turned back to her window which overlooked the training simulation room and smiled secretly, “at ease, I would have also accepted Mother.”

“If this is about that Titan eater,” Reg argued the point he thought was about to be made, “If we had not brought her with us we would not have been able to stop those Tsunamis. You would be dead right now, and the UUPG would have lost there best…”

“Don’t fucking flatter me, it won’t work.” Reavasai interrupted.

“I was gonna say Dreadnaught,” Reg replied.

Reavasai chuckled, ever so slightly, under her breath, “I am glad you brought her, but that’s not why I called you here. At 0800 hours, your Titan eater left through hanger bay 13. Before that our she allowed our scientists to run a few tests,” she just kept staring out the window. “They found out something interesting. Very interesting,” she paused for a moment as she gained a look of impress. “She is dead.

“What?” Reg replied, “No, she can’t be.”

“She has been, since before you met,” Reavasai replied, still smiling.

“I could see her breathe,” Reg argued.

“She is a Titan eating Zombie. They tell me breathing is a luxury for her,” Reavasai replied. “That she has no heat signature, no heartbeat. We can’t even measure her brain activity,” she turned to face Reg. “Yet her displayed intelligence seems to match our own and to top it all off,” she threw a handwritten note six pages letter onto her desk, “even her handwriting is better than mine.”

“She wrote this?” Reg picked up the letter and began to skim through it. “How?”

Reavasai replied by picking up a remote and turning on some security footage showing the bi-peddle reptile skillfully use a single talon on one toe, dipped in some ink she found, to write the letter. “In it, she wrote down a detailed report of what happened planetside, her mission, her name…”

“Ilean wants to offer of temporary alliance,” Reg interrupted. “According to this the Titan’s are being created by something called the Wyyvern of Gods, damn this is small handwriting, and her mission is to end it before it gets to her home Multiverse.”

Reavasai Cor returned her attention to the window, “Come, take a look at this.”

“The training simulator is totaled,” Reg could not believe his eyes. “Did she?”

“I had them turn it on when she wondered in,” Reavasai replied with a smile. General Gabri Tol and I watched her just put her foot down once, and this happened. When she left she shut the door on her way out. It’s almost as though she cares about us for some reason.”

“Permission to agree with the terms she wrote down and follow her, Mother,” Reg stood at attention again.

“I’m glad you feel that way because this entire Dreadnaught is following her as we speak,” Reavasai replied.

“These orders come from Reavasai Cor herself,” Reg Cor said after explaining the Dreadnaught’s new mission.

“The head of the UUPG?” Taz questioned.

“Sir, she has no heartbeat or heat signature.” Jessy argued, “There is no way to track it.”

“Correct, but we still have her in line-of-sight from the bridge,” Reg replied. “General Gabri Tol has had us tailing her since she left the ship at 0800 hours. Our mission is simple,” Reg switched from a friendly tone to one of authority. “Whenever and wherever she drops, we drop. If she hunts a Titan into an asteroid field, we go in with her. Where she stands we stand. And when she finds this so-called Wyyvern of Gods, we suit up, and we show it that we bow to now God. The end of the war grows near, this is our last hope. Are you prepared!”

“Aye, Sir!” the squad shouted in unison as they stood at attention.

“I said are you prepared!” Reg repeated louder.

“Aye, Sir!” the squad repeated louder.

“I can’t hear you!” Reg barked.

“Aye, Sir!” the squad shouted loudly with enthusiasm.

“That is what I like to hear!” Reg replied, still barking his words at his men. “Suit up and get to your vehicles. She’s already dropped.”
