Episode 25: Trading Blows

“An aggressive strategy by the Gods,” Mercedes commented. “One that may leave the Western Lane weakened without anyone else who can take damage for Anubis.”

“Although, with the Mad Wyyvern wandering aimlessly through the snow capped mountains,” Woodsmann rebutted, “Heaven and Hell only have each other for backup.”

“It looks like a Northlandish Fennec from the Knights’ army is attempting the Wall,” Mercedes sounded more excited than usual. “Ooh, and he cut himself in half trying. No surprise there, it took Edward years of training before he even attempted using a real great sword for the fighting style. The Wall is not to be tried at home, folks.”

“You do realize the Wall is just a helicopter spin, right?” asked Woodsmann.

Mercedes snickered shaking his head, “no it is not.”

“Yes it is,” Woodsmann replied.

“Have you ever even seen Edward use his Wall?” Mercedes argued.

“No,” Woodsmann replied. Then he asked, “have you?”

“Well, no…” Mercedes admitted, “but it is not a helicopter spin.”

“It so is,” Woodsmann chuckled.

“Push!” Zesrial shouted as she fought along side her army.

Not far from the Clashpoint, Anubis and Set waited for the Wyyvern Knight of Deceit to reach their Tower. “Almost,” Set grinned, “just a little bit more to your… there,” jumping out from the Biome, he lashed Heaven with Hubris three times in a row before she managed to shield bash him away. “What’s the matter, sweetheart?” Set taunted. “Feeling frail?”

Her Healthbar slowly ticking away from Set’s DOT effect Zesrial noticed a red number 3 on her HUD by her Healthbar. Suddenly her Healthbar was at one fourth and then she found herself at the Hearth painfully regenerating. “Let me have a go,” Hell suggested.

“Almost too easy,” Anubis smiled at the success of his plan. With no one in the Lane for the Knights Anubis and Set easily pushed through the Fennecs to the first Tower in their way.

After a full push and some decent damage to the Knights’ Tower, “Hell is coming,” Set informed Anubis.

“Good,” Anubis ceased his attacks on the Tower. “I was saving this one for him.”

Dodging Set’s lashes Hell Grabbed hold of Hubris with his off hand and pulled Set in slicing Heaven through him seven times before headbutting him. Then he ran Heaven’s blade through Set’s chest, “You will never get through my Wall.”

“Nah,” Set coughed, “but he will.” As Set vanished to the Falls, Hell would have reacted just in time to block Anubis’s attack. Had it not been unblockable.

Hell gurgled as his body’s two halves stitched themselves back together until, “AH!” Hell calmed himself breathing heavily.

“We need to start dodging that unblockable,” said Zesrial.

“So that’s what it feels like to be cut in half,” Hell commented.

“I cannot believe they made this attack unblockable,” Anubis chuckled having knocked the Tower to half health. Then went back to his Team’s Tower to await Set’s return allowing the Fennec army to push his Jackals back to the Lane’s center.

Akiri could hear Heaven through her radio, “Akiri, how’s center Lane?”

“Holding fast,” Akiri replied popping a bubble shield to block Oya’s targeted payload. “Sure you don’t want me to push?” She finished of Oya’s Healthbar winning their firefight. “Haha! Got ya!”

“Push,” Heaven commanded. “Do not hold back.”

Akiri smiled, “Helga, disengage tripod and rocket jump me right in front of her Tower.” Helga did, but with the Fennecs still back at the unmoved Clashpoint the Jackals easily sent Akiri back to the Hearth.

“What did we learn?” Helga asked softly.

“Push with the army,” Akiri replied sourly.

Having only just respawned, Oya moved to her farthest Tower and aimed down her sites. Unable to damage her own army, Akiri was already holding Helga’s trigger down as she entered the Path. Which meant her face shield was up. “Damn it,” Oya lowered her aim, “I wonder,” and shot Akiri’s foot. It worked, Akiri let go of her trigger from the pain, but then rocket jumped to the Clashpoint. Now within Akiri’s range Oya watched as a bright light grew in front of Helga’s barrel. Oya went for the headshot, pulling Magnus’s trigger just before finding herself regenerating in the Falls.

In the Hearth, “four times in a row?” Akiri questioned the Wyyvern Knights of Deceit after her draw with Oya.

“Just keep pushing,” Hell returned to the west Lane wielding Heaven, the Wyyvern Blade of Deceit.

“Alright.” Akiri moved to center Lane to find out, “shit, she’s on the turret.”

“Language, young Lady,” Helga snapped.

“I’m two and a half million years old,” Akiri replied just before an explosion of rubble, “Well, that’s the end of that Tower.” Then Hell fell upon Oya sending her to the Falls and destroying her Tower. “Thank you!” Akiri rocket jumped to the Clashpoint and started pushing with her army as Heaven returned to their west Lane’s farthest Tower.

Stunning Anubis and Set on entry, Heaven pulled them to her one by one with her mace and shield bashed them and their Jackals out with Hell, the Wyyvern Shieldwall of Deceit. She spread her wings as Anubis went for the instant kill with Chastity and blocked her as she shield bashed Anubis back. Finishing off Set who had tried to lash her with Hubris again, Heaven returned her attention to Anubis, “West Tower is about to fall!” she shouted into her radio. “Set is in respawn,” so was Ares and Oya, “but Anubis is charging is ultimate. No Damn it. Trace! Where are you!”

“Zesrial says no!” Snow’s voice carried across the battlefield without the use of her radio as Set, Oya, and Ares resurrected at Anubis’s side. By a bolt of her own lightning, Heaven was healed back to full Health.

Hell took his Wyyvern Knight form and stabbed Heaven blade first into the ground before him with a confident smirk on his face only to find himself at the Hearth again, “what happened.”

“He used Chastity’s instant kill again,” Heaven replied.

“How far into a Lane do I have to be to use an ability?” asked Hell.

“You can do it from here,” Heaven replied.

Sniffing the air, “Anubis!” Hell beckoned, “I smell your transgressions!” before leaping from the Hearth to Anubis’s location killing Anubis, Set, and Oya with a fiery explosion as Tzu, having grown seven miles long, began to fall down upon the Gods’ furthest standing Tower.

With a rev louder than Tzu’s own, Sun grew seven miles long, rose to block Tzu, and saved the Tower. “Bellona!” Ares shouted to the Wicked Wyyvern Goddess of War.

“Ares!” Bellona shouted back as she charged at the Righteous Wyyvern God of War.

Having only just made it out of the mountains, Trace looked out into the desert ahead of him. “Finally,” Q, the Wyyvern Handgun of Madness, said in Trace’s head. “Now, where is our Biomer.”
